Grupo Financiero Santander Serfin has its oldest background in the year of 1864, with the creation of the Banco de Londres, México y Sudamérica.

Santander Serfin is owned 75% by Grupo Santander Central Hispano, a Spanish consortium, and 25% by Bank of America. Santander Central Hispano is Spain and Latin America's largest financial group, and in Latin America has presence in 11 countries, where it serves 12 million individual customers.

Santander Serfin has successfully implemented many actions to provide electronic services to its customers. Such is the case with the financial group's banking portal, the Tiend@kit initiative, that sells at low price a complete online shop solution, and with the recent launch of the portal that serves specifically the community of small and medium sized businesses.
